We are thrilled to be working with a MELB-based PR & comms agency (PR, social and content, design and strategy) that’s looking to hire an experienced leader.
This PR agency is well established, values driven and now seeks a GM level talent to manage daily business activities.
The Opportunity:
- Support the Founder and work closely with the ELT
- Guide the agency as it scales, evolves and strengthens its position as a premium specialist comms firm
- Oversee the agency’s company vision, commercial growth, operational excellence, team leadership and client service quality
- Drive business strategy, organisational structure and ongoing growth initiatives
- Oversee commercial performance, P&L, forecasting and profitability
- Review and refine operational systems, processes and business efficiencies
- Lead strategic planning sessions and monthly leadership meetings
- Lead new business acquisition across existing and emerging service arms
- Identify sector opportunities and drive strategic profiling in key markets
- Oversee tenders, pitches, proposals and quoting
- Build strong relationships across industry networks to grow the agency pipeline
- Collaborate with Directors on new service offerings and business innovation
- Foster a high-performing, supportive and positive workplace culture
- Lead the agency’s progression pathways, performance reviews and 1:1s
- Coach and mentor senior leaders to elevate capability across all divisions
- Oversee recruitment, talent pipeline management, onboarding, remuneration and HR compliance
- Ensure best-practice staff processes, documentation and policies are maintained.
You:
- You live in Melbourne and have full working rights
- You are currently a GAD looking to step up or a GM/MD looking for a new career opportunity, culture and client mix
- You will have strong consumer / corporate PR / communications portfolio experience
- Exceptional financial acumen, including P&L oversight, budgeting, forecasting, profitability planning and interpreting commercial data
- Proven experience leading high-performing teams, mentoring senior talent and cultivating a positive, collaborative culture
- Strong capability across business operations, resourcing, capacity planning and organisational structure
- Demonstrated success in new business development, pitches, proposals, tenders and identifying market opportunities
- Confidence stepping into senior client relationships to provide strategic counsel, manage escalations and support complex campaigns
- A solutions-focused mindset with confidence navigating change, pressure and competing priorities
- Exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire, unite and empower your team.
